Mayor Wayne Fleming of Franklinton visited
Franklinton Head Start with a proclamation for
Head Start Awareness Month. He and Mary
Boulware, Center Director, were in the
Bogalusa High School Band back in 1960.
The following FHS staff attended CACFP
training at the Alack building on 12-10-09
and also enjoyed sharing Creole food with
other centers:

Start is expected to give birth
to a baby girl on May 12.
She was surprised with a baby
shower at the end of a staff
meeting before Easter.
It's the first staff baby for
Franklinton Head Start in about
12 years!
Payton Creel was getting ready to pull the winner of
the Spring Basket Raffle held by the parents at
Franklinton Head Start. The contents were valued
at more than $300 and the proceeds will be used to
purchase backpacks for the 151 children in the new
year beginning in August. The winning ticket was
sold by Treyton Bankston to his aunt, Sissy Seimle
of Isabel. Call 839-5422 to make an application
appointment for your child.
Forty-two members of the Franklinton High School
Honor Society brought 360 dozen plastic eggs to
hide for the 40 Infant Toddlers and the 111 Pre-K
children. That was a total of 4,320 eggs which
averaged about 28.5 eggs per child. It was
fence-to-fence eggs.
